The Coconut Kitchen started as a take away only establishment located at Tyn y Mur, a mile outside Abersoch. The menu was very limited due to the size of the kitchen but the philosophy was to prepare and serve fresh, good quality food. Following this success the Coconut Kitchen moved down the hill to Abersoch village into a 30+ seater restaurant overlooking the harbour. The kitchen expanded and the menu has grown but the philosophy of preparing and serving quality, fresh, aromatic food is stronger than ever.
Meet our Head Chef
May is the Head chef at the Coconut Kitchen. She trained as a chef in Thailand and was taught many different recipes by her mother who was a cookery teacher in a town called Pak Chong, 2 hours north of Bangkok. May then spent 4 years as a Chef de Partie in a top London gastro pub where the menu centred on European and Asian fusion cuisine.
