Where do these Banana Crisps come from we here you ask? Well as you can imagine we travel to Thailand a lot with our business.
Our coconut milk is made there (they have the best coconuts in Thailand) and we get many of our ingredients direct from Thailand for our sauces and curry pastes, so its always good to have personal relationships with our suppliers. And a what better place to have a working holiday!
During our travels there we eat – we eat lot and snack a lot too! Sometimes we find some great snacks that we feel will go down well in the UK too. So we import them.
Thailand is a big Banana producing nation and they have many varieties that thrive in the climate. Banana Joe gets their Hom Thong or Gros Michel Bananas direct from the local farms and gives back 10% of its profits to the Green Net Foundation which supports sustainable, fair trade agriculture in Thailand.

As Joe says, “We ensure correct ripeness for added crunch, and cook the bananas gently to allow the flavours to remain intact. We learned to pick the finest bananas. Our “hom thong” bananas, otherwise known as the golden fragrant bananas. Although “hom thong” bananas are more difficult to source, we chose them because they taste better than any other variety of bananas. You can see the difference by the unique golden colour and taste the difference by the fragrance of Banana Joe Banana snacks.”
